Hi Everyone!  First I would like to thank you for viewing our website.  I am excited to be the new state president and have loads of ideas for improving the association.  I am currently enrolled at The College of Southern Nevada in my second of four semesters.  I am also the President of the CSN Student Nurses’ Association.  I have been passionate about health care since I turned 16 and joined the local fire department in my hometown.  It is my goal to increase and promote the image of nursing as well as breakthrough to nursing.  With my experience in leadership roles in the past, I plan to guide the NVSNA into the future.  If you have any questions regarding the state nurses’ association please feel free to send me an email anytime.  Thank you and have a great year!

Thank you for exploring the Nevada Student Nurses’ Association website.  My name is Allen Welborn and I am the Executive Vice President. I am also the founding President of the Apollo College Student Nurses’ Association. I will graduate from the ADN program at Apollo College in July 2010. My education will not end there.  I intend to enroll in Nevada State College’s RN to BSN program after sitting for the NCLEX-RN in early August. As the Executive Vice President of the NVNSA my duties not only include being an advisor to the President of NVSNA but also to be the Chairperson of the Convention Committee.  I look forward to planning the 2nd Annual Convention which will be held in northern Nevada in mid January 2011. I will be depending on the Nevada membership for input and ideas and I look forward to meeting and working with all of you.  The previous board was very successful in building a strong state constituent member of the National Student Nurses’ Association and I know that the 2010 Board of Directors intends to capitalize on their success. My name is Jackie Rennirt and I am currently enrolled at Apollo College, Las Vegas campus. I am in my 5th semester and look forward to graduating in July of 2010. My journey to nursing began when my daughter was born with a cleft palate; her Nurse Practitioner was inspiring to me. When I decided to go back to school, I chose nursing so I would have an opportunity to show patients and families the care and compassion that we received. I love nursing, I love working with diverse groups of people, and I feel that we can learn something from every single person we meet. My goal for NVSNA is to increase membership throughout the state consistently, every month, throughout my year in office. I have a background in membership promotion and I look forward to using my experience to enhance membership of our organization.
